A Windy Weekend at the Ranch

Well it is Spring in Idaho. This means the wind blows 30 days out of 30 days each month.  It also means that 25 days the wind speed is above 20 mph.  Well it filled both of those requirements this weekend.

I rode my Stud colt on Saturday in the wind.  The colt didn’t mind the wind, what he did mind was being away from the stalls and his Ladies. He would go along for awhile then he wouldn’t work and start for the stalls. I tried to fight him at first to get him to do what I wanted.  That didn’t work the best, it was a draw on who won.  I finally had him  stop and take a breather, then I would start him to move and guide him to go in the direction I wanted. I would also speed him up when he was going the right way.

Today I wanted to ride my Walker Mare however 5o mph wind gusts won. I stayed home and worked on pictures and jewelry write ups.

ML Ranch Jewelry

Linda is working on several more Viking Knit pieces. We have had several ladies here in town request necklaces and chokers using the Viking Knit pattern. She should have one of the pieces finished on Monday.  It is a Sterling Silver wire piece.

ML Ranch Jewelry is almost done with the new jewelry inventory that needs to go on line. The editing of the pictures is what slows the process down.  We have found that using the picture library on the computer the way to go when editing.  It allows you to see the picture without having to select on a picture file and wait for it to show up in the picture window.  This has cut down on the editing time by half.

Linda’s Bionic Hip

Linda is improving each day with the new hip.  She has even drove the car on a couple of short errands this weekend. She has said she is not up to a long trip but a short trip is working for her.  I was hoping she would wait a few more days before driving.  I can’t say to much though.  I only waited 3 weeks instead of the Doc’s 6 weeks before getting back on a horse after a horse had broken my back.

ML Ranch Jewelry is having a “Spring into Spring “Sale.  Everything is marked down 40% for this sale.  Check out our online stores.
